17. Now this I affirm and insist on in the Lord: you must no longer walk as the gentiles walk, in the futility of their minds;

18. they are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of their ignorance and hardness of heart.

19. They have lost all sensitivity and have abandoned themselves to licentiousness, greedy to practice every kind of impurity.

20. That is not the way you learned Christ!

21. For surely you have heard about him and were taught in him, as truth is in Jesus,

22. to put away your former way of life, your old self, corrupt and deluded by its lusts,

23. and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,

24. and to clothe yourselves with the new self, created according to the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

17. ആകയാൽ ഞാൻ കർത്താവിൽ സാക്ഷീകരിച്ചു പറയുന്നതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: ജാതികൾ തങ്ങളുടെ വ്യർത്ഥബുദ്ധി അനുസരിച്ചു നടക്കുന്നതുപോലെ നിങ്ങൾ ഇനി നടക്കരുതു.

18. അവർ അന്ധബുദ്ധികളായി അജ്ഞാനം നിമിത്തം, ഹൃദയകാഠിന്യം നിമിത്തം തന്നേ,

19. ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ജീവനിൽ നിന്നു അകന്നു മനം തഴമ്പിച്ചു പോയവർ ആകയാൽ അത്യാഗ്രഹത്തോടെ സകല അശുദ്ധിയും പ്രവർത്തിപ്പാൻ ദുഷ്കാമത്തിന്നു തങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ ഏല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

20. നിങ്ങളോ യേശുവിൽ സത്യം ഉള്ളതുപോലെ അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു കേട്ടു അവനിൽ ഉപദേശം ലഭിച്ചു എങ്കിൽ

21. ക്രിസ്തുവിനെക്കുറിച്ചു ഇങ്ങനെയല്ല പഠിച്ചതു.

22. മുമ്പിലത്തെ നടപ്പു സംബന്ധിച്ചു ചതിമോഹങ്ങളാൽ വഷളായിപ്പോകുന്ന പഴയ മനുഷ്യനെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു

23. നിങ്ങളുടെ ഉള്ളിലെ ആത്മാവു സംബന്ധമായി പുതുക്കം പ്രാപിച്ചു

24. സത്യത്തിന്റെ ഫലമായ നീതിയിലും വിശുദ്ധിയിലും ദൈവാനുരൂപമായി സൃഷ്ടിക്കപ്പെട്ട പുതുമനുഷ്യനെ ധരിച്ചുകൊൾവിൻ.

7. “Ask, and it will be given to you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you.

8. For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.

9. Is there anyone among you who, if your child asked for bread, would give a stone?

10. Or if the child asked for a fish, would give a snake?

11. If you, then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

12. “In everything do to others as you would have them do to you, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

7. “परमेश्वर से माँगते रहो, तुम्हें दिया जायेगा। खोजते रहो तुम्हें प्राप्त होगा खटखटाते रहो तुम्हारे लिए द्वार खोल दिया जायेगा।

8. क्योंकि हर कोई जो माँगता ही रहता है, प्राप्त करता है। जो खोजता है पा जाता है और जो खटखटाता ही रहता है उसके लिए द्वार खोल दिया जाएगा।

9. “तुम में से ऐसा पिता कौन सा है जिसका पुत्र उससे रोटी माँगे और वह उसे पत्थर दे?

10. या जब वह उससे मछली माँगे तो वह उसे साँप दे दे। बताओ क्या कोई देगा? ऐसा कोई नहीं करेगा।

11. इसलिये यदि चाहे तुम बुरे ही क्यों न हो, जानते हो कि अपने बच्चों को अच्छे उपहार कैसे दिये जाते हैं। सो निश्चय ही स्वर्ग में स्थित तुम्हारा परम-पिता माँगने वालों को अच्छी वस्तुएँ देगा। व्यवस्था की सबसे बड़ी शिक्षा

12. “इसलिये जैसा व्यवहार अपने लिये तुम दूसरे लोगों से चाहते हो, वैसा ही व्यवहार तुम भी उनके साथ करो। व्यवस्था के विधि और भविष्यवक्ताओं के लिखे का यही सार है। स्वर्ग और नरक का मार्ग

7. യാചിപ്പിൻ എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു കിട്ടും; അന്വേഷിപ്പിൻ എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾ കണ്ടെത്തും; മുട്ടുവിൻ എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു തുറക്കും.

8. യാചിക്കുന്ന ഏവന്നും ലഭിക്കുന്നു; അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവൻ കണ്ടെത്തുന്നു; മുട്ടുന്നവന്നു തുറക്കും.

9. മകൻ അപ്പം ചോദിച്ചാൽ അവന്നു കല്ലു കൊടുക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യൻ നിങ്ങളിൽ ആരുള്ളൂ?

10. മീൻ ചോദിച്ചാൽ അവന്നു പാമ്പിനെ കൊടുക്കുമോ?

11. അങ്ങനെ ദോഷികളായ നിങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കൾക്കു നല്ല ദാനങ്ങളെ കൊടുപ്പാൻ അറിയുന്നു എങ്കിൽ സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവു തന്നോടു യാചിക്കുന്നവർക്കു നന്മ എത്ര അധികം കൊടുക്കും!

12. മനുഷ്യർ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ ഇച്ഛിക്കന്നതു ഒക്കെയും നിങ്ങൾ അവർക്കും ചെയ്‍വിൻ; ന്യായപ്രമാണവും പ്രവാചകന്മാരും ഇതു തന്നേ.
