6. So when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, is this the time when you will restore the kingdom to Israel?”

7. He replied, “It is not for you to know the times or periods that the Father has set by his own authority.

8. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

9. When he had said this, as they were watching, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight.

10. While he was going and they were gazing up toward heaven, suddenly two men in white robes stood by them.

11. They said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking up toward heaven? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.” Matthias Chosen to Replace Judas

6. सो जब वे आपस में मिले तो उन्होंने उससे पूछा, “हे प्रभु, क्या तू इसी समय इस्राएल के राज्य की फिर से स्थापना कर देगा?”

7. उसने उनसे कहा, “उन अवसरों या तिथियों को जानना तुम्हारा काम नहीं है, जिन्हें परम पिता ने स्वयं अपने अधिकार से निश्चित किया है।

8. बल्कि जब पवित्र आत्मा तुम पर आयेगा, तुम्हें शक्ति प्राप्त हो जायेगी, और यरूशलेम में, समूचे यहूदिया और सामरिया में और धरती के छोरों तक तुम मेरे साक्षी बनोगे।”

9. इतना कहने के बाद उनके देखते देखते उसे स्वर्ग में ऊपर उठा लिया गया और फिर एक बादल ने उसे उनकी आँखों से ओझल कर दिया।

10. जब वह जा रहा था तो वे आकाश में उसके लिये आँखें बिछाये थे। तभी तत्काल श्वेत वस्त्र धारण किये हुए दो पुरुष उनके बराबर आ खड़े हुए

11. और कहा, “हे गलीली लोगों, तुम वहाँ खड़े-खड़े आकाश में टकटकी क्यों लगाये हो? यह यीशु जिसे तुम्हारे बीच से स्वर्ग में ऊपर उठा लिया गया, जैसे तुमने उसे स्वर्ग में जाते देखा, वैसे ही वह फिर वापस लौटेगा।” एक नये प्रेरित का चुनाव

6. ഒരുമിച്ചു കൂടിയിരുന്നപ്പോൾ അവർ അവനോടു: കർത്താവേ, നീ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു ഈ കാലത്തിലോ രാജ്യം യഥാസ്ഥാനത്താക്കിക്കൊടുക്കുന്നതു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

7. അവൻ അവരോടു: പിതാവു തന്റെ സ്വന്ത അധികാരത്തിൽ വെച്ചിട്ടുള്ള കാലങ്ങളെയോ സമയങ്ങളേയോ അറിയുന്നതു നിങ്ങൾക്കുള്ളതല്ല.

8. എന്നാൽ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു നിങ്ങളുടെ മേൽ വരുമ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾ ശക്തി ലഭിച്ചിട്ടു യെരൂശലേമിലും യെഹൂദ്യയിൽ എല്ലാടത്തും ശമര്യയിലും ഭൂമിയുടെ അറ്റത്തോളവും എന്റെ സാക്ഷികൾ ആകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

9. ഇതു പറഞ്ഞശേഷം അവർ കാൺകെ അവൻ ആരോഹണം ചെയ്തു; ഒരു മേഘം അവനെ മൂടീട്ടു അവൻ അവരുടെ കാഴ്ചെക്കു മറഞ്ഞു.

10. അവൻ പോകുന്നേരം അവർ ആകാശത്തിലേക്കു ഉറ്റുനോക്കുമ്പോൾ വെള്ള വസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ച രണ്ടു പുരുഷന്മാർ അവരുടെ അടുക്കൽനിന്നു:

11. ഗലീലാപുരുഷന്മാരേ, നിങ്ങൾ ആകാശത്തിലേക്കു നോക്കിനില്ക്കുന്നതു എന്തു? നിങ്ങളെ വിട്ടു സ്വർഗ്ഗാരോഹണം ചെയ്ത ഈ യേശുവിനെ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിലേക്കു പോകുന്നവനായി നിങ്ങൾ കണ്ടതുപോലെ തന്നേ അവൻ വീണ്ടും വരും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

13. But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about those who have died, so that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope.

14. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have died.

15. For this we declare to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will by no means precede those who have died.

16. For the Lord himself, with a cry of command, with the archangel’s call and with the sound of God’s trumpet, will descend from heaven, and the dead in Christ will rise first.

17. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up in the clouds together with them to meet the Lord in the air; and so we will be with the Lord forever.

18. Therefore encourage one another with these words.

13. हे भाईयों, हम चाहते हैं कोई जो चिर-निद्रा में सो गए हैं, तुम उनके विषय में भी जानो ताकि तुम्हें उन औरों के समान, जिनके पास आशा नहीं है, शोक न करना पड़े।

14. क्योंकि यदि हम यह विश्वास करते हैं कि यीशु की मृत्यु हो गयी और वह फिर से जी उठा, तो उसी प्रकार जिन्होंने उसमें विश्वास करते हुए प्राण त्याग दिए हैं, उनके साथ भी परमेश्वर वैसा ही करेगा। और यीशु के साथ वापस ले जायेगा।

15. जब प्रभु का फिर से आगमन होगा तो हम जो जीवित हैं और अभी यहीं हैं उनसे आगे नहीं निकल पाएँगे जो मर चुके हैं।

16. क्योंकि स्वर्गदूतों का मुखिया जब अपने ऊँचे स्वर से आदेश देगा तथा जब परमेश्वर का बिगुल बजेगा तो प्रभु स्वयं स्वर्ग से उतरेगा। उस समय जिन्होंने मसीह में प्राण त्यागे हैं, वे पहले उठेंगे।

17. उसके बाद हमें जो जीवित हैं, और अभी भी यहीं हैं उनके साथ ही हवा में प्रभु से मिलने के लिए बादलों के बीच ऊपर उठा लिए जायेंगे और इस प्रकार हम सदा के लिए प्रभु के साथ हो जायेंगे।

18. अतः इन शब्दों के साथ एक दूसरे को उत्साहित करते रहो।

13. സഹോദരന്മാരേ, നിങ്ങൾ പ്രത്യാശയില്ലാത്ത മറ്റുള്ളവരെപ്പോലെ ദുഃഖിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നിദ്രകൊള്ളുന്നവരെക്കുറിച്ചു അറിവില്ലാതിരിക്കരുതു എന്നു ഞങ്ങൾ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു.

14. യേശു മരിക്കയും ജീവിച്ചെഴുന്നേൽക്കയും ചെയ്തു എന്നു നാം വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ദൈവം നിദ്രകൊണ്ടവരെയും യേശുമുഖാന്തരം അവനോടുകൂടെ വരുത്തും.

15. കർത്താവിന്റെ പ്രത്യക്ഷതവരെ ജീവനോടെ ശേഷിക്കുന്നവരായ നാം നിദ്രകൊണ്ടവർക്കു മുമ്പാകയില്ല എന്നു ഞങ്ങൾ കർത്താവിന്റെ വചനത്താൽ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

16. കർത്താവു താൻ ഗംഭീരനാദത്തോടും പ്രധാനദൂതന്റെ ശബ്ദത്തോടും ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കാഹളത്തോടുംകൂടെ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവരികയും ക്രിസ്തുവിൽ മരിച്ചവർ മുമ്പെ ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേൽക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

17. പിന്നെ ജീവനോടെ ശേഷിക്കുന്ന നാം അവരോടു ഒരുമിച്ചു ആകാശത്തിൽ കർത്താവിനെ എതിരേല്പാൻ മേഘങ്ങളിൽ എടുക്കപ്പെടും; ഇങ്ങനെ നാം എപ്പോഴും കർത്താവിനോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കും.

18. ഈ വചനങ്ങളെക്കൊണ്ടു അന്യോന്യം ആശ്വസിപ്പിച്ചുകൊൾവിൻ.

42. Keep awake therefore, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.

43. But understand this: if the owner of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into.

44. Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an unexpected hour. The Faithful or the Unfaithful Slave

45. “Who then is the faithful and wise slave, whom his master has put in charge of his household, to give the other slaves their allowance of food at the proper time?

46. Blessed is that slave whom his master will find at work when he arrives.

47. Truly I tell you, he will put that one in charge of all his possessions.

48. But if that wicked slave says to himself, ‘My master is delayed,’

49. and he begins to beat his fellow slaves, and eats and drinks with drunkards,

50. the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour that he does not know.

51. He will cut him in pieces and put him with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

42. “सो तुम लोग सावधान रहो क्योंकि तुम नहीं जानते कि तुम्हारा स्वामी कब आ जाये।

43. याद रखो यदि घर का स्वामी जानता कि रात को किस घड़ी चोर आ जायेगा तो वह सजग रहता और चोर को अपने घर में सेंध नहीं लगाने देता।

44. इसलिए तुम भी तैयार रहो क्योंकि तुम जब उसकी सोच भी नहीं रहे होगे, मनुष्य का पुत्र आ जायेगा। अच्छे सेवक और बुरे सेवक (लूका

45. “तब सोचो वह भरोसेमंद सेवक कौन है, जिसे स्वामी ने अपने घर के सेवकों के ऊपर उचित समय उन्हें उनका भोजन देने के लिए लगाया है।

46. धन्य है वह सेवक जिसे उसका स्वामी जब आता है तो कर्तव्य करते पाता है।

47. मैं तुमसे सत्य कहता हूँ वह स्वामी उसे अपनी समूची सम्पत्ति का अधिकारी बना देगा।

49. सो वह अपने साथी दासों से मार पीट करने लगता है और शराबियों के साथ खाना पीना शुरु कर देता है।

50. तो उसका स्वामी ऐसे दिन आ जायेगा जिस दिन वह उसके आने की सोचता तक नहीं और जिसका उसे पता तक नहीं।

51. और उसका स्वामी उसे बुरी तरह दण्ड देगा और कपटियों के बीच उसका स्थान निश्चित करेगा जहाँ बस लोग रोते होंगे और दाँत पीसते होंगे।

42. നിങ്ങളുടെ കർത്താവു ഏതു ദിവസത്തിൽ വരുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ അറിയായ്ക കൊണ്ടു ഉണർന്നിരിപ്പിൻ.

43. കള്ളൻ വരുന്നയാമം ഇന്നതെന്നു വീട്ടുടയവൻ അറിഞ്ഞു എങ്കിൽ അവൻ ഉണർന്നിരിക്കയും തന്റെ വീടു തുരക്കുവാൻ സമ്മതിക്കാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്യും എന്നു അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

44. അങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങൾ നിനെക്കാത്ത നാഴികയിൽ മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ വരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളും ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിപ്പിൻ.

45. എന്നാൽ യജമാനൻ തന്റെ വീട്ടുകാർക്കു തത്സമയത്തു ഭക്ഷണം കൊടുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരുടെ മേൽ ആക്കിവെച്ച വിശ്വസ്തനും ബുദ്ധിമാനും ആയ ദാസൻ ആർ?

46. യജമാനൻ വരുമ്പോൾ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തു കാണുന്ന ദാസൻ ഭാഗ്യവാൻ.

47. അവൻ അവനെ തനിക്കുള്ള സകലത്തിന്മേലും യജമാനൻ ആക്കിവെക്കും എന്നു ഞാൻ സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

48. എന്നാൽ അവൻ ദുഷ്ടദാസനായി: യജമാനൻ വരുവാൻ താമസിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഹൃദയംകൊണ്ടു പറഞ്ഞു,

49. കൂട്ടു ദാസന്മാരെ അടിപ്പാനും കുടിയന്മാരോടുകൂടി തിന്നുകുടിപ്പാനും തുടങ്ങിയാൽ

50. ആ ദാസൻ നിരൂപിക്കാത്ത നാളിലും അറിയാത്ത നാഴികയിലും യജമാനൻ വന്നു അവനെ ദണ്ഡിപ്പിച്ചു അവന്നു കപടഭക്തിക്കാരോടുകൂടെ പങ്കുകല്പിക്കും; അവിടെ കരച്ചലും പല്ലുകടിയും ഉണ്ടാകും”
