21. Be subject to one another out of reverence for Christ.

22. Wives, be subject to your husbands as you are to the Lord.

23. For the husband is the head of the wife just as Christ is the head of the church, the body of which he is the Savior.

24. Just as the church is subject to Christ, so also wives ought to be, in everything, to their husbands.

25. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her,

26. in order to make her holy by cleansing her with the washing of water by the word,

27. so as to present the church to himself in splendor, without a spot or wrinkle or anything of the kind—yes, so that she may be holy and without blemish.

28. In the same way, husbands should love their wives as they do their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.

29. For no one ever hates his own body, but he nourishes and tenderly cares for it, just as Christ does for the church,

30. because we are members of his body.

31. “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.”

32. This is a great mystery, and I am applying it to Christ and the church.

21. मसीह के प्रति सम्मान के कारण एक दूसरे को समर्पित हो जाओ।

22. हे पत्नियो, अपने-अपने पतियों के प्रति ऐसे समर्पित रहो, जैसे तुम प्रभु को समर्पित होती हो।

23. क्योंकि अपनी पत्नी के ऊपर उसका पति ही प्रमुख है। वैसे ही जैसे हमारी कलीसिया का सिर मसीह है। वह स्वयं ही इस देह का उद्धार करता है।

24. जैसे कलीसिया मसीह के अधीन है, वैसे ही पत्नियों को सब बातों में अपने अपने पतियों के प्रति समर्पित रहना चाहिए।

25. हे पतियों, अपनी पत्नियों से प्रेम करो। वैसे ही जैसे मसीह ने कलीसिया से प्रेम किया और अपने आपको उसके लिये बलि दे दिया।

26. ताकि वह उसे प्रभु की सेवा में जल में स्नान करा के पवित्र कर हमारी घोषणा के साथ परमेश्वर को अर्पित कर दे।

27. इस प्रकार वह कलीसिया को एक ऐसी चमचमाती दुल्हन के रूप में स्वयं के लिए प्रस्तुत कर सकता है जो निष्कलंक हो, झुरियों से रहित हो या जिसमें ऐसी और कोई कमी न हो। बल्कि वह पवित्र हो और सर्वथा निर्दोष हो।

28. पतियों को अपनी-अपनी पत्नियों से उसी प्रकार प्रेम करना चाहिए जैसे वे स्वयं अपनी देहों से करते हैं। जो अपनी पत्नी से प्रेम करता है, वह स्वयं अपने आप से ही प्रेम करता है।

29. कोई अपनी देह से तो कभी घृणा नहीं करता, बल्कि वह उसे पालता-पोसता है और उसका ध्यान रखता है। वैसे ही जैसे मसीह अपनी कलीसिया का

30. क्योंकि हम भी तो उसकी देह के अंग ही हैं।

31. शास्त्र कहता है: “इसीलिए एक पुरुष अपने माता-पिता को छोड़कर अपनी पत्नी से बंध जाता है और दोनों एक देह हो जाते हैं।”

32. यह रहस्यपूर्ण सत्य बहुत महत्वपूर्ण है और मैं तुम्हें बताता हूँ कि यह मसीह और कलीसिया पर भी लागू होता है।

21. ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ ഭയത്തിൽ അന്യോന്യം കീഴ്പെട്ടിരിപ്പിൻ.

22. ഭാര്യമാരേ, കർത്താവിന്നു എന്നപോലെ സ്വന്ത ഭർത്താക്കന്മാർക്കു കീഴടങ്ങുവിൻ.

23. ക്രിസ്തു ശരീരത്തിന്റെ രക്ഷിതാവായി സഭെക്കു തലയാകുന്നതുപോലെ ഭർത്താവു ഭാര്യകൂ തലയാകുന്നു.

24. എന്നാൽ സഭ ക്രിസ്തുവിന്നു കീഴടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നതു പോലെ ഭാര്യമാരും ഭർത്താക്കന്മാർക്കു സകലത്തിലും കീഴടങ്ങിയിരിക്കേണം.

25. ഭർത്താക്കന്മാരേ, ക്രിസ്തുവും സഭയെ സ്നേഹിച്ചതുപോലെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഭാര്യമാരെ സ്നേഹിപ്പിൻ.

26. അവൻ അവളെ വചനത്തോടുകൂടിയ ജലസ്നാനത്താൽ വെടിപ്പാക്കി വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും

27. കറ, ചുളുക്കം മുതലായതു ഒന്നും ഇല്ലാതെ സഭയെ ശുദ്ധയും നിഷ്കളങ്കയുമായി തനിക്കു തന്നേ തേജസ്സോടെ മുന്നിറുത്തേണ്ടതിന്നും തന്നെത്താൻ അവൾക്കു വേണ്ടി ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.

28. അവ്വണ്ണം ഭർത്താക്കന്മാരും തങ്ങളുടെ ഭാര്യമാരെ സ്വന്ത ശരീരങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ സ്നേഹിക്കേണ്ടതാകുന്നു. ഭാര്യയെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവൻ തന്നെത്താൻ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു.

29. ആരും തന്റെ ജഡത്തെ ഒരുനാളും പകെച്ചിട്ടില്ലല്ലോ; ക്രിസ്തുവും സഭയെ ചെയ്യുന്നതു പോലെ അതിനെ പോറ്റി പുലർത്തുകയത്രേ ചെയ്യുന്നതു.

30. നാം അവന്റെ ശരീരത്തിന്റെ അവയവങ്ങളല്ലോ.

31. അതു നിമിത്തം ഒരു മനുഷ്യൻ അപ്പനെയും അമ്മയെയും വിട്ടു ഭാര്യയോടു പറ്റിച്ചേരും; ഇരുവരും ഒരു ദേഹമായിത്തീരും.

32. ഈ മർമ്മം വലിയതു; ഞാൻ ക്രിസ്തുവിനെയും സഭയെയും ഉദ്ദേശിച്ചത്രേ പറയുന്നതു. എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങളും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ തന്നെപ്പോലെ തന്നേ സ്നേഹിക്കേണം. ഭാര്യയോ ഭർത്താവിനെ ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടതാകുന്നു.

4. He answered, “Have you not read that the one who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’

5. and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’?

6. So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

4. उत्तर देते हुए यीशु ने कहा, “क्या तुमने शास्त्र में नहीं पढ़ा कि जगत को रचने वाले ने प्रारम्भ में, ‘उन्हें एक स्त्री और एक पुरुष के रूप में रचा था?’

5. और कहा था ‘इसी कारण अपने माता-पिता को छोड़ कर पुरुष अपनी पत्नी के साथ दो होते हुए भी एक शरीर होकर रहेगा।’

6. सो वे दो नहीं रहते बल्कि एक रूप हो जाते हैं। इसलिए जिसे परमेश्वर ने जोड़ा है उसे किसी भी मनुष्य को अलग नहीं करना चाहिये।”

4. അതിന്നു അവൻ: “സൃഷ്ടിച്ചവൻ ആദിയിൽ അവരെ ആണും പെണ്ണുമായി സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു എന്നും

5. അതു നിമിത്തം മനുഷ്യൻ അപ്പനെയും അമ്മയെയും വിട്ടു ഭാര്യയോടു പറ്റിച്ചേരും; ഇരുവരും ഒരു ദേഹമായി തീരും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു എന്നും നിങ്ങൾ വായിച്ചിട്ടില്ലയോ?

6. അതുകൊണ്ടു അവർ മേലാൽ രണ്ടല്ല, ഒരു ദേഹമത്രേ; ആകയാൽ ദൈവം യോജിപ്പിച്ചതിനെ മനുഷ്യൻ വേർപിരിക്കരുതു” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
