Jeremiah 15:15-21 First Lesson

15. O Lord, you know; remember me and visit me, and bring down retribution for me on my persecutors. In your forbearance do not take me away; know that on your account I suffer insult.

16. Your words were found, and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart; for I am called by your name, O Lord, God of hosts.

17. I did not sit in the company of merrymakers, nor did I rejoice; under the weight of your hand I sat alone, for you had filled me with indignation.

18. Why is my pain unceasing, my wound incurable, refusing to be healed? Truly, you are to me like a deceitful brook, like waters that fail.

19. Therefore thus says the Lord: If you turn back, I will take you back, and you shall stand before me. If you utter what is precious, and not what is worthless, you shall serve as my mouth. It is they who will turn to you, not you who will turn to them.

20. And I will make you to this people a fortified wall of bronze; they will fight against you, but they shall not prevail over you, for I am with you to save you and deliver you, says the Lord.

21. I will deliver you out of the hand of the wicked, and redeem you from the grasp of the ruthless.

15. हे यहोवा, तू मुझे समझता है। मुझे याद रख और मेरी देखभाल कर। लोग मुझे चोट पहुँचाते हैं। उन लोगों को वह दण्ड दे जिसके वह पात्र हैं। तू उन लोगों के प्रति सहनशील है। किन्तु उनके प्रति सहनशील रहते समय मुझे नष्ट न कर दे। मेरे बारे में सोच। यहोवा उस पीड़ा को सोच जो मैं तेरे लिये सहता हूँ।

16. तेरा सन्देश मुझे मिला और मैं उसे निगल गया। तेरे सन्देश ने मुझे बहुत प्रसन्न कर दिया। मैं प्रसन्न था कि मुझे तेरे नाम से पुकारा जाता है। तेरा नाम यहोवा सर्वशक्तिमान है।

17. मैं कभी भीड़ में नहीं बैठा क्योंकि उन्होंने हँसी उड़ाई और मजा लिया। अपने ऊपर तेरे प्रभाव के कारण मैं अकेला बैठा। तूने मेरे चारों ओर की बुराइयों पर मुझे क्रोध से भर दिया।

18. मैं नहीं समझ पाता कि मैं क्यों अब तक घायल हूँ मैं नहीं समझ पाता कि मेरा घाव अच्छा क्यों नहीं होता और भरता क्यों नहीं हे यहोवा, मैं समझता हूँ कि तू बदल गया है। तू सोते के उस पानी की तरह है जो सूख गया हो। तू उस सोते की तरह है जिसका पानी सूख गया हो।

19. तब यहोवा ने कहा, “यिर्मयाह, यदि तुम बदल जाते हो और मेरे पास आते हो, तो मैं तुम्हें दण्ड नहीं दूँगा। यदि तुम बदल जाते हो और मेरे पास आते हो तो तुम मेरी सेवा कर सकते हो। यदि तुम महत्वपूर्ण बात कहते हो और उन बेकार बातों को नहीं कहते, तो तुम मेरे लिये कह सकते हो। यिर्मयाह, यहूदा के लोगों को बदलना चाहिये और तुम्हारे पास उन्हें आना चाहिये। किन्तु तुम मत बदलो और उनकी तरह न बनो।

20. मैं तुम्हें शक्तिशाली बनाऊँगा। वे लोग सोचेंगे कि तुम काँसे की बनी दीवार जैसे शक्तिशाली हो यहूदा के लोग तुम्हारे विरुद्ध लड़ेंगे, किन्तु वे तुम्हें हरायेंगे नहीं। वे तुमको नहीं हरायेंगे। क्यों क्योंकि मैं तुम्हारे साथ हूँ। मैं तुम्हारी सहायता करुँगा, तुम्हारा उद्धार करुँगा।” यह सन्देश यहोवा को है।

21. “मैं तुम्हारा उद्धार उन बुरे लोगों से करूँगा। वे लोग तुम्हें डराते हैं। किन्तु मैं तुम्हें उन लोगों से बचाऊँगा।”

15. യഹോവേ, നീ അറിയുന്നു; എന്നെ ഓർത്തു സന്ദർശിക്കേണമേ; എന്നെ ഉപദ്രവിക്കുന്നവരോടു പ്രതികാരം ചെയ്യേണമേ; നിന്റെ ദീർഘക്ഷമയിൽ എന്നെ എടുത്തുകളയരുതേ; നിന്റെ നിമിത്തം ഞാൻ നിന്ദ സഹിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഓർക്കേണമേ;

16. ഞാൻ നിന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ കണ്ടെത്തി ഭക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ വചനങ്ങൾ എനിക്കു സന്തോഷവും എന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിന്നു ആനന്ദവും ആയി; സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, നിന്റെ നാമം എനിക്കു വിളിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

17. കളിക്കാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ ഞാൻ ഇരുന്നു ഉല്ലസിച്ചിട്ടില്ല; നീ എന്നെ നീരസംകൊണ്ടു നിറെച്ചിരിക്കയാൽ നിന്റെ കൈനിമിത്തം ഞാൻ തനിച്ചിരുന്നു.

18. എന്റെ വേദന നിരന്തരവും എന്റെ മുറിവു പൊറുക്കാതവണ്ണം വിഷമവും ആയിരിക്കുന്നതെന്തു? നീ എനിക്കു ചതിക്കുന്ന തോടും വറ്റിപ്പോകുന്ന വെള്ളവും പോലെ ആയിരിക്കുമോ?

19. അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: നീ മടങ്ങിവന്നാൽ ഞാൻ നിന്നെ എന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നില്പാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം വീണ്ടും കൈക്കൊള്ളും; നീ അധമമായതു ഒഴിച്ചു ഉത്തമമായതു പ്രസ്താവിച്ചാൽ നീ എന്റെ വായ്പോലെ ആകും; അവർ നിന്റെ പക്ഷം തിരിയും നീ അവരുടെ പക്ഷം തിരികയില്ല.

20. ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ഈ ജനത്തിന്നു ഉറപ്പുള്ള താമ്രഭിത്തിയാക്കിവെക്കും; അവർ നിന്നോടു യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യും, ജയിക്കയില്ല; നിന്നെ രക്ഷിപ്പാനും വിടുവിപ്പാനും ഞാൻ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

21. ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു വിടുവിക്കയും നീഷ്കണ്ടകന്മാരുടെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു വീണ്ടുകൊള്ളുകയും ചെയ്യും.
Acts 13:17-26 Second Lesson

17. The God of this people Israel chose our ancestors and made the people great during their stay in the land of Egypt, and with uplifted arm he led them out of it.

18. For about forty years he put up with them in the wilderness.

19. After he had destroyed seven nations in the land of Canaan, he gave them their land as an inheritance

20. for about four hundred fifty years. After that he gave them judges until the time of the prophet Samuel.

21. Then they asked for a king; and God gave them Saul son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, who reigned for forty years.

22. When he had removed him, he made David their king. In his testimony about him he said, ‘I have found David, son of Jesse, to be a man after my heart, who will carry out all my wishes.’

23. Of this man’s posterity God has brought to Israel a Savior, Jesus, as he promised;

24. before his coming John had already proclaimed a baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.

25. And as John was finishing his work, he said, ‘What do you suppose that I am? I am not he. No, but one is coming after me; I am not worthy to untie the thong of the sandals on his feet.’

26. “My brothers, you descendants of Abraham’s family, and others who fear God, to us the message of this salvation has been sent.

17. इन इस्राएल के लोगों के परमेश्वर ने हमारे पूर्वजों को चुना था और जब हमारे लोग मिसरमें ठहरे हुए थे, उसने उन्हें महान् बनाया था और अपनी महान शक्ति से ही वह उनको उस धरती से बाहर निकाल लाया था।

18. और लगभग चालीस वर्ष तक वह जंगल में उनके साथ रहा।

19. और कनान देश की सात जातियों को नष्ट करके उसने वह धरती इस्राएल के लोगों को उत्तराधिकार के रूप में दे दी।

20. इस सब कुछ में कोई लगभग साढ़े चार सौ वर्ष लगे। “इसके बाद शमूएल नबी के समय तक उसने उन्हें अनेक न्यायकर्ता दिये।

21. फिर उन्होंने एक राजा की माँग की, सो परमेश्वर ने बिन्यामीन के गोत्र के एक व्यक्ति कीश के बेटे शाऊल को चालीस साल के लिये उन्हें दे दिया।

22. फिर शाऊल को हटा कर उसने उनका राजा दाऊद को बनाया जिसके विषय में उसने यह साक्षी दी थी, ‘मैंने यिशे के बेटे दाऊद को एक ऐसे व्यक्ति के रूप में पाया है, जो मेरे मन के अनुकूल है। जो कुछ मैं उससे कराना चाहता हूँ, वह उस सब कुछ को करेगा।’

23. “इस ही मनुष्य के एक वंशज को अपनी प्रतिज्ञा के अनुसार परमेश्वर इस्राएल में उद्धारकर्ता यीशु के रूप में ला चुका है।

24. उसके आने से पहले यूहन्ना इस्राएल के सभी लोगों में मन फिराव के बपतिस्मा का प्रचार करता रहा है।

25. यूहन्ना जब अपने काम को पूरा करने को था, तो उसने कहा था, ‘तुम मुझे जो समझते हो, मैं वह नहीं हूँ। किन्तु एक ऐसा है जो मेरे बाद आ रहा है। मैं जिसकी जूतियों के बन्ध खोलने के लायक भी नहीं हूँ।’

26. “भाईयों, इब्राहीम की सन्तानो और परमेश्वर के उपासक ग़ैर यहूदियो! उद्धार का यह सुसंदेश हमारे लिए ही भेजा गया है।

17. യിസ്രായേൽജനത്തിന്റെ ദൈവം നമ്മുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു, മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തിലെ പ്രവാസകാലത്തു ജനത്തെ വർദ്ധിപ്പിച്ചു, ഭുജവീര്യംകൊണ്ടു അവിടെനിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു.

18. മരുഭൂമിയിൽ നാല്പതു സംവത്സരകാലത്തോളം അവരുടെ സ്വഭാവം സഹിച്ചു,

19. കനാൻ ദേശത്തിലെ ഏഴു ജാതികളെ ഒടുക്കി, അവരുടെ ദേശം അവർക്കു അവകാശമായി വിഭാഗിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു. അങ്ങനെ ഏകദേശം നാനൂറ്റമ്പതു സംവത്സരം കഴിഞ്ഞു.

20. അതിന്റെശേഷം അവൻ അവർക്കു ശമൂവേൽ പ്രവാചകൻ വരെ ന്യായാധിപതിമാരെ കൊടുത്തു,

21. അനന്തരം അവർ ഒരു രാജാവിനെ ചോദിച്ചു; ദൈവം അവർക്കു ബെന്യാമീൻ ഗോത്രക്കാരനായ കീശിന്റെ മകൻ ശൌലിനെ നാല്പതാണ്ടേക്കു കൊടുത്തു.

22. അവനെ നീക്കീട്ടു ദാവീദിനെ അവർക്കു രാജാവായി വാഴിച്ചു: ഞാൻ യിശ്ശായിയുടെ മകനായ ദാവീദിനെ എനിക്കു ബോധിച്ച പുരുഷനായി കണ്ടു; അവൻ എന്റെ ഹിതം എല്ലാം ചെയ്യും എന്നു അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞു.

23. അവന്റെ സന്തതിയിൽനിന്നു ദൈവം വാഗ്ദത്തം ചെയ്തതുപോലെ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു യേശു എന്ന രക്ഷിതാവിനെ കൊടുത്തു.

24. അവന്റെ വരവിന്നു മുമ്പെ യോഹന്നാൻ യിസ്രായേൽജനത്തിന്നു ഒക്കെയും മാനസാന്തരത്തിന്റെ സ്നാനം പ്രസംഗിച്ചു.

25. യോഹന്നാൻ ജീവകാലം തികവാറായപ്പോൾ: നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ ആർ എന്നു നിരൂപിക്കുന്നു? ഞാൻ മശീഹയല്ല; അവൻ എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വരുന്നു; അവന്റെ കാലിലെ ചെരിപ്പു അഴിപ്പാൻ ഞാൻ യോഗ്യനല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

26. സഹോദരന്മാരേ, അബ്രാഹാംവംശത്തിലെ മക്കളും അവരോടു ചേർന്ന ദൈവഭക്തന്മാരുമായുള്ളാരേ, നമുക്കാകുന്നു ഈ രക്ഷാവചനം അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതു.
Hebrews 4:12-14 Epistle

12. Indeed, the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing until it divides soul from spirit, joints from marrow; it is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

13. And before him no creature is hidden, but all are naked and laid bare to the eyes of the one to whom we must render an account. Jesus the Great High Priest

14. Since, then, we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast to our confession.

12. परमेश्वर का वचन तो सजीव और क्रियाशील है, वह किसी दोधारी तलवार से भी अधिक पैना है। वह आत्मा और प्राण, सन्धियों और मज्जा तक में गहरा बेध जाता है। वह मन की वृत्तियों और विचारों को परख लेता है।

13. परमेश्वर की दृष्टि से इस समूची सृष्टि में कुछ भी ओझल नहीं है। उसकी आँखों के सामने, जिसे हमें लेखा-जोखा देना है, हर वस्तु बिना किसी आवरण के खुली हुई है। महान महायाजक यीशु

14. इसलिए क्योंकि परमेश्वर का पुत्र यीशु एक ऐसा महान् महायाजक है, जो स्वर्गों में से होकर गया है तो हमें अपने अंगीकृत एवं घोषित विश्वास को दृढ़ता के साथ थामे रखना चाहिए।

12. ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വചനം ജീവനും ചൈതന്യവുമുള്ളതായി ഇരുവായ്ത്തലയുള്ള ഏതു വാളിനെക്കാളും മൂർച്ചയേറിയതും പ്രാണനെയും ആത്മാവിനെയും സന്ധിമജ്ജകളെയും വേറുവിടുവിക്കുംവരെ തുളെച്ചുചെല്ലുന്നതും ഹൃദയത്തിലെ ചിന്തനങ്ങളെയും ഭാവങ്ങളെയും വിവേചിക്കുന്നതും ആകുന്നു.

13. അവന്നു മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു സൃഷ്ടിയുമില്ല; സകലവും അവന്റെ കണ്ണിന്നു നഗ്നവും മലർന്നതുമായി കിടക്കുന്നു; അവനുമായിട്ടാകുന്നു നമുക്കു കാര്യമുള്ളതു.

14. ആകയാൽ ദൈവപുത്രനായ യേശു ആകാശത്തിൽകൂടി കടന്നുപോയോരു ശ്രേഷ്ഠമഹാപുരോഹിതനായി നമുക്കു ഉള്ളതുകൊണ്ടു നാം നമ്മുടെ സ്വീകാരം മറുകെപ്പിടിച്ചുകൊൾക.

57. Now the time came for Elizabeth to give birth, and she bore a son.

58. Her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown his great mercy to her, and they rejoiced with her.

59. On the eighth day they came to circumcise the child, and they were going to name him Zechariah after his father.

60. But his mother said, “No; he is to be called John.”

61. They said to her, “None of your relatives has this name.”

62. Then they began motioning to his father to find out what name he wanted to give him.

63. He asked for a writing tablet and wrote, “His name is John.” And all of them were amazed.

64. Immediately his mouth was opened and his tongue freed, and he began to speak, praising God.

65. Fear came over all their neighbors, and all these things were talked about throughout the entire hill country of Judea.

66. All who heard them pondered them and said, “What then will this child become?” For, indeed, the hand of the Lord was with him. Zechariah’s Prophecy

57. एलिज़ाबेथ का प्रसवकाल पूरा हुआ और उन्होंने एक पुत्र को जन्म दिया.

58. जब पड़ोसियों और परिजनों ने यह सुना कि एलिज़ाबेथ पर यह अनुग्रह हुआ है, तो वे भी उनके इस आनन्द में सम्मिलित हो गए.

59. आठवें दिन वे शिशु के ख़तना के लिए इकट्ठा हुए. वे शिशु को उसके पिता के नाम पर ज़कर्याह पुकारने लगे

60. किन्तु शिशु की माता ने उत्तर दिया; “नहीं! इसका नाम योहन होगा!”

61. इस पर उन्होंने एलिज़ाबेथ से कहा, “आपके परिजनों में तो इस नाम का कोई भी व्यक्ति नहीं है!”

62. तब उन्होंने शिशु के पिता से संकेत में प्रश्न किया कि वह शिशु का नाम क्या रखना चाहते हैं?

63. ज़कर्याह ने एक लेखन पट्ट मँगा कर उस पर लिख दिया, “इसका नाम योहन है.” यह देख सभी चकित रह गए.

64. उसी क्षण उनकी आवाज़ लौट आई. उनकी जीभ के बन्धन खुल गए और वह परमेश्वर का स्तुति करने लगे.

65. सभी पड़ोसियों में परमेश्वर के प्रति श्रद्धाभाव आ गया और यहूदिया प्रदेश के सभी पर्वतीय क्षेत्र में इसकी चर्चा होने लगी.

66. निस्सन्देह प्रभु का हाथ उस बालक पर था. जिन्होंने यह सुना, उन्होंने इसे याद रखा और यह विचार करते रहे: “क्या होगा यह बालक!”

57. എലീശബെത്തിന്നു പ്രസവിപ്പാനുള്ള കാലം തികഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ അവൾ ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു;

58. കർത്താവു അവൾക്കു വലിയ കരുണ കാണിച്ചു എന്നു അയൽക്കാരും ചാർച്ചക്കാരും കേട്ടിട്ടു അവളോടുകൂടെ സന്തോഷിച്ചു.

59. എട്ടാം നാളിൽ അവർ പൈതലിനെ പരിച്ഛേദന ചെയ്‍വാൻ വന്നു; അപ്പന്റെ പേർ പോലെ അവന്നു സെഖര്യാവു എന്നു പേർ വിളിപ്പാൻ ഭാവിച്ചു.

60. അവന്റെ അമ്മയോ: അല്ല, അവന്നു യോഹന്നാൻ എന്നു പേരിടേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

61. അവർ അവളോടു: നിന്റെ ചാർച്ചയിൽ ഈ പേരുള്ളവർ ആരും ഇല്ലല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

62. പിന്നെ അവന്നു എന്തു പേർ വിളിപ്പാൻ വിചാരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അപ്പനോടു ആഗ്യംകാട്ടി ചോദിച്ചു.

63. അവൻ ഒരു എഴുത്തു പലക ചോദിച്ചു: അവന്റെ പേർ യോഹന്നാൻ എന്നു എഴുതി; എല്ലാവരും ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു.

64. ഉടനെ അവന്റെ വായും നാവും തുറന്നു, അവൻ സംസാരിച്ചു ദൈവത്തെ സ്തുതിച്ചു.

65. ചുറ്റും പാർക്കുന്നവർക്കു എല്ലാം ഭയം ഉണ്ടായി;, യെഹൂദ്യമലനാട്ടിൽ എങ്ങും ഈ വാർത്ത ഒക്കെയും പരന്നു.

66. കേട്ടവർ എല്ലാവരും അതു ഹൃദയത്തിൽ നിക്ഷേപിച്ചു: ഈ പൈതൽ എന്തു ആകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; കർത്താവിന്റെ കൈ അവനോടു കൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
