1. It is necessary to boast; nothing is to be gained by it, but I will go on to visions and revelations of the Lord.

2. I know a person in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven—whether in the body or out of the body I do not know; God knows.

3. And I know that such a person—whether in the body or out of the body I do not know; God knows—

4. was caught up into Paradise and heard things that are not to be told, that no mortal is permitted to repeat.

5. On behalf of such a one I will boast, but on my own behalf I will not boast, except of my weaknesses.

6. But if I wish to boast, I will not be a fool, for I will be speaking the truth. But I refrain from it, so that no one may think better of me than what is seen in me or heard from me,

7. even considering the exceptional character of the revelations. Therefore, to keep me from being too elated, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to torment me, to keep me from being too elated.

8. Three times I appealed to the Lord about this, that it would leave me,

9. but he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” So, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.

10. Therefore I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities for the sake of Christ; for whenever I am weak, then I am strong. Paul’s Concern for the Corinthian Church

1. अब तो मुझे गर्व करना ही होगा। इससे कुछ मिलना नहीं है। किन्तु मैं तो प्रभु के दर्शनों और प्रभु के दैवी संदेशों पर गर्व करता ही रहूँगा।

2. मैं मसीह में स्थित एक ऐसे व्यक्ति को जानता हूँ जिसे चौदह साल पहले (मैं नहीं जानता बस परमेश्वर ही जानता है) देह सहित या देह रहित तीसरे स्वर्ग में उठा लिया गया था।

3. और मैं जानता हूँ कि इसी व्यक्ति को (मैं नहीं जानता, बस परमेश्वर ही जानता है) बिना शरीर के या शरीर सहित

4. स्वर्गलोक में उठा लिया गया था। और उसने ऐसे शब्द सुने जो वर्णन से बाहर हैं और जिन्हें बोलने की अनुमति मनुष्य को नहीं है।

5. हाँ, ऐसे मनुष्य पर मैं अभिमान करूँगा किन्तु स्वयं अपने पर, अपनी दुर्बलताओं को छोड़कर अभिमान नहीं करूँगा।

6. क्योंकि यदि मैं अभिमान करने की सोचूँ तो भी मैं मूर्ख नहीं बनूँगा क्योंकि तब मैं सत्य कह रहा होऊँगा। किन्तु तुम्हें मैं इससे बचाता हूँ ताकि कोई मुझे जैसा करते देखता है या कहते सुनता है, उससे अधिक श्रेय न दे।

7. असाधारण दैवी संदेशों के कारण मुझे कोई गर्व न हो जाये इसलिए एक काँटा मेरी देह में चुभाया गया है। जो शैतान का दूत है, वह मुझे दुखता रहता है ताकि मुझे बहुत अधिक घमण्ड न हो जाये।

8. काँटे की इस समस्या के बारे में मैंने प्रभु से तीन बार प्रार्थना की है कि वह इस काँटे को मुझमें से निकाल ले,

9. किन्तु उसने मुझसे कह दिया है, “तेरे लिये मेरा अनुग्रह पर्याप्त है क्योंकि निर्बलता में ही मेरी शक्ति सबसे अधिक होती है” इसलिए मैं अपनी निर्बलता पर प्रसन्नता के साथ गर्व करता हूँ। ताकि मसीह की शक्ति मुझ में रहे।

10. इस प्रकार मसीह की ओर से मैं अपनी निर्बलताओं, अपमानों, कठिनाइयों, यातनाओं और बाधाओं में आनन्द लेता हूँ क्योंकि जब मैं निर्बल होता हूँ, तभी शक्तिशाली होता हूँ। कुरिन्थियों के प्रति पौलुस का प्रेम

1. പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നതിനാൽ പ്രയോജനമില്ല എങ്കിലും അതു ആവശ്യമായിരിക്കുന്നു. ഞാൻ കർത്താവിന്റെ ദർശനങ്ങളെയും വെളിപ്പാടുകളെയും കുറിച്ചു പറവാൻ പോകുന്നു.

2. ക്രിസ്തുവിലുള്ള ഒരു മനുഷ്യനെ ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നു: അവൻ പതിന്നാലു സംവത്സരം മുമ്പെ മൂന്നാം സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തോളം എടുക്കപ്പെട്ടു; ശരീരത്തോടെയോ എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നില്ല, ശരീരം കൂടാതെയോ എന്നുമറിയുന്നില്ല; ദൈവം അറിയുന്നു.

4. മനുഷ്യന്നു ഉച്ചരിപ്പാൻ പാടില്ലാത്തതും പറഞ്ഞുകൂടാത്തതുമായ വാക്കുകളെ അവൻ കേട്ടു എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നു.

5. അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു ഞാൻ പ്രശംസിക്കും; എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചോ എന്റെ ബലഹീനതകളിൽ അല്ലാതെ ഞാൻ പ്രശംസിക്കയില്ല.

6. ഞാൻ പ്രശംസിപ്പാൻ വിചാരിച്ചാലും മൂഢനാകയില്ല; സത്യമല്ലോ പറയുന്നതു; എങ്കിലും എന്നെ കാണുന്നതിനും എന്റെ വായിൽനിന്നു കേൾക്കുന്നതിനും മീതെ ആരും എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു നിരൂപിക്കരുതു എന്നുവെച്ചു ഞാൻ അടങ്ങുന്നു.

7. വെളിപ്പാടുകളുടെ ആധിക്യത്താൽ ഞാൻ അതിയായി നിഗളിച്ചുപോകാതിരിപ്പാൻ എനിക്കു ജഡത്തിൽ ഒരു ശൂലം തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ നിഗളിച്ചുപോകാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്നെ കുത്തുവാൻ സാത്താന്റെ ദൂതനെ തന്നേ.

8. അതു എന്നെ വിട്ടു നീങ്ങേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ മൂന്നു വട്ടം കർത്താവിനോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

9. അവൻ എന്നോടു: എന്റെ കൃപ നിനക്കുമതി; എന്റെ ശക്തി ബലഹീനതയിൽ തികഞ്ഞുവരുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ആകയാൽ ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ ശക്തി എന്റെമേൽ ആവസിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ അതിസന്തോഷത്തോടെ എന്റെ ബലഹീനതകളിൽ പ്രശംസിക്കും.

10. അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ ക്രിസ്തുവിന്നു വേണ്ടി ബലഹീനത, കയ്യേറ്റം, ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടു, ഉപദ്രവം, ഞെരുക്കം എന്നിവ സഹിപ്പാൻ ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നു; ബലഹീനനായിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ തന്നേ ഞാൻ ശക്തനാകുന്നു.

16. So we do not lose heart. Even though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed day by day.

17. For this slight momentary affliction is preparing us for an eternal weight of glory beyond all measure,

18. because we look not at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen; for what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal.

16. इसलिए हम निराश नहीं होते। यद्यपि हमारे भौतिक शरीर क्षीण होते जा रहे हैं, तो भी हमारी अंतरात्मा प्रतिदिन नयी से नयी होती जा रही है।

17. हमारा पल भर का यह छोटा-मोटा दुःख एक अनन्त अतुलनीय महिमा पैदा कर रहा है।

18. जो कुछ देखा जा सकता है, हमारी आँखें उस पर नहीं टिकी हैं, बल्कि अदृश्य पर टिकी हैं। क्योंकि जो देखा जा सकता है, वह विनाशी है, जबकि जिसे नहीं देखा जा सकता, वह अविनाशी है।

16. അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞങ്ങൾ അധൈര്യപ്പെടാതെ ഞങ്ങളുടെ പുറമെയുള്ള മനുഷ്യൻ ക്ഷയിച്ചുപോകുന്നു എങ്കിലും ഞങ്ങളുടെ അകമേയുള്ളവൻ നാൾക്കുനാൾ പുതുക്കം പ്രാപിക്കുന്നു.

17. നൊടിനേരത്തേക്കുള്ള ഞങ്ങളുടെ ലഘുവായ കഷ്ടം അത്യന്തം അനവധിയായി തേജസ്സിന്റെ നിത്യഘനം ഞങ്ങൾക്കു കിട്ടുവാൻ ഹേതുവാകുന്നു.

18. കാണുന്നതിനെ അല്ല, കാണാത്തതിനെ അത്രേ ഞങ്ങൾ നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; കാണുന്നതു താൽക്കാലികം, കാണാത്തതോ നിത്യം.

1. As he walked along, he saw a man blind from birth.

2. His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”

3. Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned; he was born blind so that God’s works might be revealed in him.

4. We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming when no one can work.

5. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”

6. When he had said this, he spat on the ground and made mud with the saliva and spread the mud on the man’s eyes,

7. saying to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which means Sent). Then he went and washed and came back able to see.

1. जाते हुए उसने जन्म से अंधे एक व्यक्ति को देखा।

2. इस पर यीशु के अनुयायियों ने उससे पूछा, “हे रब्बी, यह व्यक्ति अपने पापों से अंधा जन्मा है या अपने माता-पिता के?”

3. यीशु ने उत्तर दिया, “न तो इसने पाप किए हैं और न इसके माता-पिता ने बल्कि यह इसलिये अंधा जन्मा है ताकि इसे अच्छा करके परमेश्वर की शक्ति दिखायी जा सके।

4. उसके कामों को जिसने मुझे भेजा है, हमें निश्चित रूप से दिन रहते ही कर लेना चाहिये क्योंकि जब रात हो जायेगी कोई काम नहीं कर सकेगा।

5. जब मैं जगत में हूँ मैं जगत की ज्योति हूँ।”

6. इतना कहकर यीशु ने धरती पर थूका और उससे थोड़ी मिट्टी सानी उसे अंधे की आंखों पर मल दिया।

7. और उससे कहा, “जा और शीलोह के तालाब में धो आ।” (शीलोह अर्थात् “भेजा हुआ।”) और फिर उस अंधे ने जाकर आँखें धो डालीं। जब वह लौटा तो उसे दिखाई दे रहा था।

1. അവൻ കടന്നുപോകുമ്പോൾ പിറവിയിലെ കുരുടനായോരു മനുഷ്യനെ കണ്ടു.

2. അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ അവനോടു: റബ്ബീ, ഇവൻ കുരുടനായി പിറക്കത്തക്കവണ്ണം ആർ പാപം ചെയ്തു? ഇവനോ ഇവന്റെ അമ്മയപ്പന്മാരോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

3. അതിന്നു യേശു: “അവൻ എങ്കിലും അവന്റെ അമ്മയപ്പന്മാരെങ്കിലും പാപം ചെയ്തിട്ടല്ല, ദൈവപ്രവൃത്തി അവങ്കൽ വെളിവാകേണ്ടതിന്നത്രേ.

4. എന്നെ അയച്ചവന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തി പകൽ ഉള്ളേടത്തോളം നാം ചെയ്യേണ്ടതാകുന്നു; ആർക്കും പ്രവർത്തിച്ചുകൂടാത്ത രാത്രി വരുന്നു;

5. ഞാൻ ലോകത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോൾ ലോകത്തിന്റെ വെളിച്ചം ആകുന്നു” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

6. ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവൻ നിലത്തു തുപ്പി തുപ്പൽകൊണ്ടു ചേറുണ്ടാക്കി ചേറു അവന്റെ കണ്ണിന്മേൽ പൂശി

7. “നീ ചെന്നു ശിലോഹാംകുളത്തിൽ കഴുകുക” എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു; ശിലോഹാം എന്നതിന്നു അയക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ എന്നർത്ഥം. അവൻ പോയി കഴുകി, കണ്ണു കാണുന്നവനായി മടങ്ങിവന്നു.
