1. Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb

2. through the middle of the street of the city. On either side of the river is the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, producing its fruit each month; and the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.

3. Nothing accursed will be found there any more. But the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him;

4. they will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.

5. And there will be no more night; they need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.

6. And he said to me, “These words are trustworthy and true, for the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent his angel to show his servants what must soon take place.”

1. इसके पश्चात् उस स्वर्गदूत ने मुझे जीवन देने वाले जल की एक नदी दिखाई। वह नदी स्फटिक की तरह उज्ज्वल थी। वह परमेश्वर और मेमने के सिंहासन से निकलती हुई

2. नगर की गलियों के बीच से होती हुई बह रही थी। नदी के दोनों तटों पर जीवन वृक्ष उगे थे। उन पर हर साल बारह फसलें लगा करतीं थीं। इसके प्रत्येक वृक्ष पर प्रतिमास एक फसल लगती थी तथा इन वृक्षों की पत्तियाँ अनेक जातियों को निरोग करने के लिए थीं।

3. वहाँ किसी प्रकार का कोई अभिशाप नहीं होगा। परमेश्वर और मेमने का सिंहासन वहाँ बना रहेगा। तथा उसके सेवक उसकी उपासना करेंगे

4. तथा उसका नाम उनके माथों पर अंकित रहेगा।

5. वहाँ कभी रात नहीं होगी और न ही उन्हें सूर्य के अथवा दीपक के प्रकाश की कोई आवश्यकता रहेगी। क्योंकि उन पर प्रभु परमेश्वर अपना प्रकाश डालेगा और वे सदा सदा शासन करेंगे।

6. फिर उस स्वर्गदूत ने मुझसे कहा, “ये वचन विश्वास करने योग्य और सत्य हैं। प्रभु ने जो नबियों की आत्माओं का परमेश्वर है, अपने सेवकों को, जो कुछ शीघ्र ही घटने वाला है, उसे जताने के लिए अपना स्वर्गदूत भेजा है।

1. വീഥിയുടെ നടുവിൽ ദൈവത്തിന്റെയും കുഞ്ഞാടിന്റെയും സിംഹാസനത്തിൽ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുന്നതായി പളുങ്കുപോലെ ശുഭ്രമായ ജീവജലനദിയും അവൻ എന്നെ കാണിച്ചു.

2. നദിക്കു ഇക്കരെയും അക്കരെയും ജീവവൃക്ഷം ഉണ്ടു; അതു പന്ത്രണ്ടുവിധം ഫലം കായിച്ചു മാസംതോറും അതതു ഫലം കൊടുക്കുന്നു; വൃക്ഷത്തിന്റെ ഇല ജാതികളുടെ രോഗശാന്തിക്കു ഉതകുന്നു.

3. യാതൊരു ശാപവും ഇനി ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല; ദൈവത്തിന്റെയും കുഞ്ഞാടിന്റെയും സിംഹാസനം അതിൽ ഇരിക്കും; അവന്റെ ദാസന്മാർ അവനെ ആരാധിക്കും.

4. അവർ അവന്റെ മുഖംകാണും; അവന്റെ നാമം അവരുടെ നെറ്റിയിൽ ഇരിക്കും.

5. ഇനി രാത്രി ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല; ദൈവമായ കർത്താവു അവരുടെ മേൽ പ്രകാശിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു വിളക്കിന്റെ വെളിച്ചമോ സൂര്യന്റെ വെളിച്ചമോ അവർക്കു ആവശ്യമില്ല. അവർ എന്നെന്നേക്കും രാജാക്കന്മാരായിരിക്കും.

6. പിന്നെ അവൻ എന്നോടു: ഈ വചനം വിശ്വാസയോഗ്യവും സത്യവും ആകുന്നു; പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ ആത്മാക്കളുടെ ദൈവമായ കർത്താവു വേഗത്തിൽ സംഭവിക്കേണ്ടുന്നതു തന്റെ ദാസന്മാർക്കു കാണിച്ചുകൊടുപ്പാൻ തന്റെ ദൂതനെ അയച്ചു

11. When the crowds saw what Paul had done, they shouted in the Lycaonian language, “The gods have come down to us in human form!”

12. Barnabas they called Zeus, and Paul they called Hermes, because he was the chief speaker.

13. The priest of Zeus, whose temple was just outside the city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates; he and the crowds wanted to offer sacrifice.

14. When the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of it, they tore their clothes and rushed out into the crowd, shouting,

15. “Friends, why are you doing this? We are mortals just like you, and we bring you good news, that you should turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all that is in them.

16. In past generations he allowed all the nations to follow their own ways;

17. yet he has not left himself without a witness in doing good—giving you rains from heaven and fruitful seasons, and filling you with food and your hearts with joy.”

18. Even with these words, they scarcely restrained the crowds from offering sacrifice to them.

11. पौलुस ने जो कुछ किया था, जब भीड़ ने उसे देखा तो लोग लुकाउनिया की भाषा में पुकार कर कहने लगे, “हमारे बीच मनुष्यों का रूप धारण करके, देवता उतर आये है!”

12. वे बरनाबास को “ज़ेअस” और पौलुस को “हिरमेस” कहने लगे। पौलुस को हिरमेस इसलिये कहा गया क्योंकि वह प्रमुख वक्ता था।

13. नगर के ठीक बाहर बने ज़ेअस के मन्दिर का याजक नगर द्वार पर साँड़ों और मालाओं को लेकर आ पहुँचा। वह भीड़ के साथ पौलुस और बरनाबास के लिये बलि चढ़ाना चाहता था।

14. किन्तु जब प्रेरित बरनाबास और पौलुस ने यह सुना तो उन्होंने अपने कपड़े फाड़ डाले और वे ऊँचे स्वर में यह कहते हुए भीड़ में घुस गये,

15. “हे लोगो, तुम यह क्यों कर रहे हो? हम भी वैसे ही मनुष्य हैं, जैसे तुम हो। यहाँ हम तुम्हें सुसमाचार सुनाने आये हैं ताकि तुम इन व्यर्थ की बातों से मुड़ कर उस सजीव परमेश्वर की ओर लौटो जिसने आकाश, धरती, सागर और इनमें जो कुछ है, उसकी रचना की।

16. “बीते काल में उसने सभी जातियों को उनकी अपनी-अपनी राहों पर चलने दिया।

17. किन्तु तुम्हें उसने स्वयं अपनी साक्षी दिये बिना नहीं छोड़ा। क्योंकि उसने तुम्हारे साथ भलाइयाँ की। उसने तुम्हें आकाश से वर्षा दी और ऋतु के अनुसार फसलें दी। वही तुम्हें भोजन देता है और तुम्हारे मन को आनन्द से भर देता है।”

18. इन वचनों के बाद भी वे भीड़ को उनके लिये बलि चढ़ाने से प्रायः नहीं रोक पाये।

11. പൌലൊസ് ചെയ്തതു പുരുഷാരം കണ്ടിട്ടു: ദേവന്മാർ മനുഷ്യരൂപത്തിൽ നമ്മുടെ അടുക്കൽ ഇറങ്ങിവന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ലുക്കവോന്യഭാഷയിൽ നിലവിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

12. ബർന്നബാസിന്നു ഇന്ദ്രൻ എന്നും പൌലൊസ് മുഖ്യപ്രസംഗിയാകയാൽ അവന്നു ബുധൻ എന്നു പേർവിളിച്ചു.

13. പട്ടണത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പിലുള്ള ഇന്ദ്രക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പുരോഹിതൻ കാളകളെയും പൂമാലകളെയും ഗോപുരത്തിങ്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു പുരുഷാരത്തോടുകൂടെ യാഗം കഴിപ്പാൻ ഭാവിച്ചു.

14. ഇതു അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരായ ബർന്നബാസും പൌലൊസും കേട്ടിട്ടു വസ്ത്രം കീറിക്കൊണ്ടു പുരുഷാരത്തിന്റെ ഇടയിലേക്കു ഓടിച്ചെന്നു നിലവിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതു:

15. പുരുഷന്മാരേ, നിങ്ങൾ ഈ ചെയ്യുന്നതു എന്തു? ഞങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളോടു സമസ്വഭാവമുള്ള മനുഷ്യർ അത്രെ; നിങ്ങൾ ഈ വ്യർത്ഥകാര്യങ്ങളെ വിട്ടു, ആകാശവും ഭൂമിയും സമുദ്രവും അവയിലുള്ള സകലവും ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ ജീവനുള്ള ദൈവത്തിങ്കലേക്കു തിരിയേണം എന്നുള്ള സുവിശേഷം ഞങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളോടു അറിയിക്കുന്നു.

16. കഴിഞ്ഞ കാലങ്ങളിൽ അവൻ സകലജാതികളെയും സ്വന്ത വഴികളിൽ നടപ്പാൻ സമ്മതിച്ചു.

17. എങ്കിലും അവൻ നന്മചെയ്കയും ആകാശത്തുനിന്നു മഴയും ഫലപുഷ്ടിയുള്ള കാലങ്ങളും നിങ്ങൾക്കു തരികയും ആഹാരവും സന്തോഷവും നല്കി നിങ്ങളെ തൃപ്തരാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തുപോന്നതിനാൽ തന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു സാക്ഷ്യം തരാതിരുന്നിട്ടില്ല.

18. അവർ ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞു തങ്ങൾക്കു യാഗം കഴിക്കാതവണ്ണം പുരുഷാരത്തെ പ്രയാസത്തോടെ തടുത്തു.

24. Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds!

25. And can any of you by worrying add a single hour to your span of life?

26. If then you are not able to do so small a thing as that, why do you worry about the rest?

27. Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these.

24. कौवों को देखो, न वे बोते हैं, न ही वे काटते है। न उनके पास भंडार है और न अनाज के कोठे। फिर भी परमेश्वर उन्हें भोजन देता है। तुम तो कौवों से कितने अधिक मूल्यवान हो।

25. चिन्ता करके, तुम में से कौन ऐसा हे, जो अपनी आयु में एक घड़ी भी और जोड़ सकता है।

26. क्योंकि यदि तुम इस छोटे से काम को भी नहीं कर सकते तो शेष के लिये चिन्ता क्यों करते हो?

27. “कुमुदिनियों को देखो, वे कैसे उगती हैं? न वे श्रम करती है, न कताई, फिर भी मैं तुमसे कहता हूँ कि सुलैमान अपने सारे वैभव के साथ उन में से किसी एक के समान भी नहीं सज सका।

24. കാക്കയെ നോക്കുവിൻ; അതു വിതെക്കുന്നില്ല, കൊയ്യുന്നില്ല, അതിന്നു പാണ്ടികശാലയും കളപ്പുരയും ഇല്ല; എങ്കിലും ദൈവം അതിനെ പുലർത്തുന്നു. പറവജാതിയെക്കാൾ നിങ്ങൾ എത്ര വിശേഷമുള്ളവർ!

25. പിന്നെ വിചാരപ്പെടുന്നതിനാൽ തന്റെ നീളത്തിൽ ഒരു മുഴം കൂട്ടുവാൻ നിങ്ങളിൽ ആർക്കു കഴിയും?

26. ആകയാൽ ഏറ്റവും ചെറിയതിന്നുപോലും നിങ്ങൾ പോരാത്തവർ എങ്കിൽ ശേഷമുള്ളതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു വിചാരപ്പെടുന്നതു എന്തു? താമര എങ്ങനെ വളരുന്നു എന്നു വിചാരിപ്പിൻ; അവ അദ്ധ്വാനിക്കുന്നില്ല നൂൽക്കുന്നതുമില്ല; എന്നാൽ ശലോമോൻ പോലും തന്റെ സകല മഹത്വത്തിലും ഇവയിൽ ഒന്നിനോളം ചമഞ്ഞിരുന്നില്ല ” എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.
