5. This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light and in him there is no darkness at all.

6. If we say that we have fellowship with him while we are walking in darkness, we lie and do not do what is true;

7. but if we walk in the light as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

8. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

9. If we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

5. हमने यीशु मसीह से जो सुसमाचार सुना है, वह यह है और इसे ही हम तुम्हें सुना रहे हैं: परमेश्वर प्रकाश है और उसमें लेशमात्र भी अंधकार नहीं है।

6. यदि हम कहें कि हम उसके साझी हैं और पाप के अन्धकारपूर्ण जीवन को जीते रहे तो हम झूठ बोल रहे हैं और सत्य का अनुसरण नहीं कर रहे हैं।

7. किन्तु यदि हम अब प्रकाश में आगे बढ़ते हैं क्योंकि प्रकाश में ही परमेश्वर है-तो हम विश्वासी के रूप में एक दूसरे के सहभागी हैं, और परमेश्वर के पुत्र यीशु का लहू हमें सभी पापों से शुद्ध कर देता है।

8. यदि हम कहते हैं कि हममें कोई पाप नहीं है तो हम स्वयं अपने आपको छल रहे हैं और हममें सच्चाई नहीं है।

9. यदि हम अपने पापों को स्वीकार कर लेते हैं तो हमारे पापों को क्षमा करने के लिए परमेश्वर विश्वसनीय है और न्यायपूर्ण है और समुचित है। तथा वह सभी पापों से हमें शुद्ध करता है।

10. यदि हम कहते हैं कि हमने कोई पाप नहीं किया तो हम परमेश्वर को झूठा बनाते हैं और उसका वचन हम में नहीं है।

5. ദൈവം വെളിച്ചം ആകുന്നു; അവനിൽ ഇരുട്ടു ഒട്ടും ഇല്ല എന്നുള്ളതു ഞങ്ങൾ അവനോടു കേട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു അറിയിക്കുന്ന ദൂതാകുന്നു.

6. അവനോടു കൂട്ടായ്മ ഉണ്ടു എന്നു പറകയും ഇരുട്ടിൽ നടക്കയും ചെയ്താൽ നാം ഭോഷ്കു പറയുന്നു; സത്യം പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

7. അവൻ വെളിച്ചത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നതു പോലെ നാം വെളിച്ചത്തിൽ നടക്കുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ നമുക്കു തമ്മിൽ കൂട്ടായ്മ ഉണ്ടു; അവന്റെ പുത്രനായ യേശുവിന്റെ രക്തം സകല പാപവും പോക്കി നമ്മെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്നു.

8. നമുക്കു പാപം ഇല്ല എന്നു നാം പറയുന്നു എങ്കിൽ നമ്മെത്തന്നേ വഞ്ചിക്കുന്നു; സത്യം നമ്മിൽ ഇല്ലാതെയായി.

9. നമ്മുടെ പാപങ്ങളെ ഏറ്റുപറയുന്നു എങ്കിൽ അവൻ നമ്മോടു പാപങ്ങളെ ക്ഷമിച്ചു സകല അനീതിയും പോക്കി നമ്മെ ശുദ്ധീകരിപ്പാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം വിശ്വസ്തനും നീതിമാനും ആകുന്നു.

10. നാം പാപം ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല എന്നു പറയുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ അവനെ അസത്യവാദിയാക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ വചനം നമ്മിൽ ഇല്ലാതെയായി.

1. If then there is any encouragement in Christ, any consolation from love, any sharing in the Spirit, any compassion and sympathy,

2. make my joy complete: be of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind.

3. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility regard others as better than yourselves.

4. Let each of you look not to your own interests, but to the interests of others.

5. Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus,

6. who, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God as something to be exploited,

7. but emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, being born in human likeness. And being found in human form,

8. he humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death— even death on a cross.

9. Therefore God also highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name,

10. so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

11. and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Shining as Lights in the World

1. फिर तुम लोगों में यदि मसीह में कोई उत्साह है, प्रेम से पैदा हुई कोई सांत्वना है, यदि आत्मा में कोई भागेदारी है, स्नेह की कोई भावना और सहानुभूति है

2. तो मुझे पूरी तरह प्रसन्न करो। मैं चाहता हूँ, तुम एक तरह से सोचो, परस्पर एक जैसा प्रेम करो, आत्मा में एका रखो और एक जैसा ही लक्ष्य रखो।

3. ईर्ष्या और बेकार के अहंकार से कुछ मत करो। बल्कि नम्र बनो तथा दूसरों को अपने से उत्तम समझो।

4. तुममें से हर एक को चाहिए कि केवल अपना ही नहीं, बल्कि दूसरों के हित का भी ध्यान रखे।

5. अपना चिंतन ठीक वैसा ही रखो जैसा मसीह यीशु का था।

6. जो अपने स्वरूप में यद्यपि साक्षात् परमेश्वर था, किन्तु उसने परमेश्वर के साथ अपनी इस समानता को कभी ऐसे महाकोष के समान नहीं समझा जिससे वह चिपका ही रहे।

7. बल्कि उसने तो अपना सब कुछ त्याग कर एक सेवक का रूप ग्रहण कर लिया और मनुष्य के समान बन गया। और जब वह अपने बाहरी रूप में मनुष्य जैसा बन गया

8. तो उसने अपने आप को नवा लिया। और इतना आज्ञाकारी बन गया कि अपने प्राण तक निछावर कर दिये और वह भी क्रूस पर।

9. इसलिए परमेश्वर ने भी उसे ऊँचे से ऊँचे स्थान पर उठाया और उसे वह नाम दिया जो सब नामों के ऊपर है

10. ताकि सब कोई जब यीशु के नाम का उच्चारण होते हुए सुनें, तो नीचे झुक जायें। चाहे वे स्वर्ग के हों, धरती पर के हों और चाहे धरती के नीचे के हों।

11. और हर जीभ परम पिता परमेश्वर की महिमा के लिये स्वीकार करें, “यीशु मसीह ही प्रभु है।”

1. ക്രിസ്തുവിൽ വല്ല പ്രബോധനവും ഉണ്ടെങ്കിൽ, സ്നേഹത്തിന്റെ വല്ല ആശ്വാസവും ഉണ്ടെങ്കിൽ, ആത്മാവിന്റെ വല്ല കൂട്ടായ്മയും ഉണ്ടെങ്കിൽ, വല്ല ആർദ്രതയും മനസ്സലിവും ഉണ്ടെങ്കിൽ,

2. നിങ്ങൾ ഏകമനസ്സുള്ളവരായി ഏകസ്നേഹം പൂണ്ടു ഐകമത്യപ്പെട്ടു ഏകഭാവമുള്ളവരായി ഇങ്ങനെ എന്റെ സന്തോഷം പൂർണ്ണമാക്കുവിൻ.

3. ശാഠ്യത്താലോ ദുരഭിമാനത്താലോ ഒന്നും ചെയ്യാതെ താഴ്മയോടെ ഓരോരുത്തൻ മറ്റുള്ളവനെ തന്നെക്കാൾ ശ്രേഷ്ഠൻ എന്നു എണ്ണിക്കൊൾവിൻ.

4. ഓരോരുത്തൻ സ്വന്തഗുണമല്ല മറ്റുള്ളവന്റെ ഗുണവും കൂടെ നോക്കേണം.

5. ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിലുള്ള ഭാവം തന്നേ നിങ്ങളിലും ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കട്ടെ.

6. അവൻ ദൈവരൂപത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കെ ദൈവത്തോടുള്ള സമത്വം മുറുകെ പിടിച്ചു കൊള്ളേണം എന്നു

7. വിചാരിക്കാതെ ദാസരൂപം എടുത്തു

8. മനുഷ്യസാദൃശ്യത്തിലായി തന്നെത്താൻ ഒഴിച്ചു വേഷത്തിൽ മനുഷ്യനായി വിളങ്ങി തന്നെത്താൻ താഴ്ത്തി മരണത്തോളം ക്രൂശിലെ മരണത്തോളം തന്നേ, അനുസരണമുള്ളവനായിത്തീർന്നു.

9. അതുകൊണ്ടു ദൈവവും അവനെ ഏറ്റവും ഉയർത്തി സകലനാമത്തിന്നും മേലായ നാമം നല്കി;

10. അങ്ങനെ യേശുവിന്റെ നാമത്തിങ്കൽ സ്വർല്ലോകരുടെയും ഭൂലോകരുടെയും അധോലോകരുടെയും മുഴങ്കാൽ ഒക്കെയും മടങ്ങുകയും

11. എല്ലാ നാവും “യേശുക്രിസ്തു കർത്താവു”എന്നു പിതാവായ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മഹത്വത്തിന്നായി ഏറ്റുപറകയും ചെയ്യേണ്ടിവരും.

1. In those days a decree went out from Emperor Augustus that all the world should be registered.

2. This was the first registration and was taken while Quirinius was governor of Syria.

3. All went to their own towns to be registered.

4. Joseph also went from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to the city of David called Bethlehem, because he was descended from the house and family of David.

5. He went to be registered with Mary, to whom he was engaged and who was expecting a child.

6. While they were there, the time came for her to deliver her child.

7. And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn. The Shepherds and the Angels

8. In that region there were shepherds living in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night.

9. Then an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.

10. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for see—I am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people:

11. to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is the Messiah, the Lord.

12. This will be a sign for you: you will find a child wrapped in bands of cloth and lying in a manger.”

13. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying,

14. “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace among those whom he favors!”

1. उन्हीं दिनों औगुस्तुस कैसर की ओर से एक आज्ञा निकाली कि सारे रोमी जगत की जनगणना की जाये।

2. यह पहली जनगणना थी। यह उन दिनों हुई थी जब सीरिया का राज्यपाल क्विरिनियुस था।

3. सो गणना के लिए हर कोई अपने अपने नगर गया।

4. यूसुफ भी, क्योंकि वह दाऊद के परिवार एवं वंश से था, इसलिये वह भी गलील के नासरत नगर से यहूदिया में दाऊद के नगर बैतलहम को गया।

5. वह वहाँ अपनी मँगेतर मरियम के साथ, (जो गर्भवती भी थी,) अपना नाम लिखवाने गया था।

6. ऐसा हुआ कि अभी जब वे वहीं थे, मरियम का बच्चा जनने का समय आ गया।

7. और उसने अपने पहले पुत्र को जन्म दिया। क्योंकि वहाँ सराय के भीतर उन लोगों के लिये कोई स्थान नहीं मिल पाया था इसलिए उसने उसे कपड़ों में लपेट कर चरनी में लिटा दिया।

8. तभी वहाँ उस क्षेत्र में बाहर खेतों में कुछ गड़रिये थे जो रात के समय अपने रेवड़ों की रखवाली कर रहे थे।

9. उसी समय प्रभु का एक स्वर्गदूत उनके सामने प्रकट हुआ और उनके चारों ओर प्रभु का तेज प्रकाशित हो उठा। वे सहम गए।

10. तब स्वर्गदूत ने उनसे कहा, “डरो मत, मैं तुम्हारे लिये अच्छा समाचार लाया हूँ, जिससे सभी लोगों को महान आनन्द होगा।

11. क्योंकि आज दाऊद के नगर में तुम्हारे उद्धारकर्ता प्रभु मसीह का जन्म हुआ है।

12. तुम्हें उसे पहचान ने का चिन्ह होगा कि तुम एक बालक को कपड़ों में लिपटा, चरनी में लेटा पाओगे।”

13. उसी समय अचानक उस स्वर्गदूत के साथ बहुत से और स्वर्गदूत वहाँ उपस्थित हुए। वे यह कहते हुए प्रभु की स्तुति कर रहे थे,

14. “स्वर्ग में परमेश्वर की जय हो और धरती पर उन लोगों को शांति मिले जिनसे वह प्रसन्न है।”

1. ആകാലത്തു ലോകം ഒക്കെയും പേർവഴി ചാർത്തേണം എന്നു ഓഗുസ്തൊസ് കൈസരുടെ ഒരു ആജ്ഞ പുറപ്പെട്ടു.

2. കുറേന്യൊസ് സുറിയനാടു വാഴുമ്പോൾ ഈ ഒന്നാമത്തെ ചാർത്തൽ ഉണ്ടായി.

3. എല്ലാവരും ചാർത്തപ്പെടേണ്ടതിന്നു താന്താന്റെ പട്ടണത്തിലേക്കു യാത്രയായി.

4. അങ്ങനെ യോസേഫും ദാവീദിന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തിലും കുലത്തിലും ഉള്ളവൻ ആകകൊണ്ടു തനിക്കു വിവാഹം നിശ്ചയിച്ചിരുന്ന മറിയ എന്ന ഗർഭിണിയായ ഭാര്യയോടും കൂടെ ചാർത്തപ്പെടേണ്ടതിന്നു ഗലീലയിലെ നസറത്ത് പട്ടണം വിട്ടു,

5. യെഹൂദ്യയിൽ ബേത്ളേഹെം എന്ന ദാവീദിൻ പട്ടണത്തിലേക്കു പോയി.

6. അവർ അവിടെ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവൾക്കു പ്രസവത്തിനുള്ള കാലം തികെഞ്ഞു.

7. അവൾ ആദ്യജാതനായ മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു, ശീലകൾ ചുറ്റി വഴിയമ്പലത്തിൽ അവർക്കു സ്ഥലം ഇല്ലായ്കയാൽ പശുത്തൊട്ടിയിൽ കിടത്തി.

8. അന്നു ആ പ്രദേശത്തു ഇടയന്മാർ രാത്രിയിൽ ആട്ടിൻ കൂട്ടത്തെ കാവൽകാത്തു വെളിയിൽ പാർത്തിരുന്നു.

9. അപ്പോൾ കർത്താവിന്റെ ഒരു ദൂതൻ അവരുടെ അരികെ നിന്നു, കർത്താവിന്റെ തേജസ്സ് അവരെ ചുറ്റിമിന്നി, അവർ ഭയപരവശരായിതീർന്നു.

10. ദൂതൻ അവരോടു: ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; സർവ്വജനത്തിന്നും ഉണ്ടാവാനുള്ളോരു മഹാസന്തോഷം ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു സുവിശേഷിക്കുന്നു.

11. കർത്താവായ ക്രിസ്തു എന്ന രക്ഷിതാവു ഇന്നു ദാവീദിന്റെ പട്ടണത്തിൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കായി ജനിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

12. നിങ്ങൾക്കു അടയാളമോ; ശീലകൾ ചുറ്റി പശുത്തൊട്ടിയിൽ കിടക്കുന്ന ഒരു ശിശുവിനെ നിങ്ങൾ കാണും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

13. പെട്ടെന്നു സ്വർഗ്ഗീയ സൈന്യത്തിന്റെ ഒരു സംഘം ദൂതനോടു ചേർന്നു ദൈവത്തെ പുകഴ്ത്തി.

14. “അത്യുന്നതങ്ങളിൽ ദൈവത്തിന്നു മഹത്വം; ഭൂമിയിൽ ദൈവപ്രസാദമുള്ള മനുഷ്യർക്കു സമാധാനം” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
